How to connect to a network folder ???

Dear all, I have an application which collect a list of files from a network
folder. This works fine as long as I have a öam drive pointing to that share
folder.
How to connect to that folder if no my drive a define but instead by using
the full UNC like "nomos-srvr.mu1.grp\d$\Server report"
