Hi there, .NET 2.0, c# asp.net web service / web application and c# client
application.
I'm downloading large datasets (one table per dataset, about 8.000 records)
page by page, using a pagesize of 400 or 450 records (using MySQL as
dbserver, select * from table limit 0,pagesize... is the syntax).
My user told me that sometimes she needs to download twice or more because
even if the program says all record downloaded there are missing data... or
incorrect value of some records or some fields...
my webmethos is simple, something like
public DataSet GetTable (string TableName, int pagestart, int pagesize)
{
...
command.commandtext = "SELECT * FROM....";
....
Adapter.Fill(dataset);
return dataset;
}
doing in these way I put a XML TEXT dataset on the TCP/IT stack so it's just
clear text on the SOAP protocol, right?
is it possible to evaluate and/or apply a kind of CRC32 or hashcode to the
soap stream so I can drop it on the client application, evaluate it again
and compare just to make sure nothing is corrupted ?!
.... do I really need this or I can rely on the TCP/IP stack and be sure the
data send are the data received without any problem?!
Thanks and sorry for the silly question :-)
Regards, Davide.
