Custom Interface Screen

Hi, All. I'm fairly new to .NET. I worked on one project but by no
means am an expert.

We'd like to add a management screen to our "application". Actually it
isn't our application--we build models with database backends that run
under a proprietary simulation environment. To that end, we'd like to
write a management screen that we can pop up from inside our models
that allows the user to interface with the database.

The thing is that we do a lot of custom work and would like to be able
to customize the management screen for some customers, so we'd like a
nice modular design. It would be great if it didn't require
application developers to develop each interface individually. It
seems like markup languages would fit in here nicely. I imagine that
we would want one xml doc specifying the relationship between the
graphic entities and the data and another markup document specifying
the layout of the items.

Or it could be done something like ASP.NET, but it should be a
standalone application (or dll) and not require a web-sever.

As I said, I'm not terribly familiar with the options in .NET and am
also not an expert on all the different flavors of markup languages,
but maybe someone could suggest some .NET modules that would be useful
here.
