1
Hi,

I have a webservice that receive an xml file with information to process.

I have a Windows service that process that data using third-party COM+ application.

The processing time by the COM+ application can take from 2 minutes to 3 hours!!!

How what when where can i notify an application that use my web service that the process is completed.

If not, my web service could return a job_id. Then the application could ping another web service to get the job status. Is a ping to a web service too demanding network wise or ...

Thanks for any information
