VB.NET compatibility on Win98

Hi there all tech gurus.I want to develop an client server application using VB.NET.The problem is the i've to run this apps over win98 systems.So please tell me what precautions should i take before taking the plunge.By the way it's a database related application.I'm sure you guys will guide me.
