Com+ 1.5 exposed as web service

Hello,

I recently upgraded to xp64. Development is still done in 32. I've found
that com+ 1.5 apps exposed as a web services no longer work locally due to
this error:

Server cannot access application directory
'C:\WINDOWS\system32\com\SoapVRoots\<app nameThe directory does not exist
or is not accessible because of security settings.

The apps will work properly on other machines. Machine configs, security
settings, etc... look identical between the newer 64 bit machines and the
older 32 bit ones. In fact I've given a number of additional permissions to
the SoapVRoots directory to no avail.
The IIS version being used is 6.0.

If a Com+ 1.5 app is built locally and deployed to a 32 bit machine it will
work, so I think it's an issue with my local IIS. Everyone in the office
with a new machine has this same issue.

Any suggestions?

thanks,

Found a fix. Just copy and paste the entire com file from System32/Com over
to SysWow64. For some reason even an explicit path directing the app to use
system32 will be rerouted to SysWow64.

Hi Duffman,

When a 32bit app running on x64 system, it is running on Windows on Windows
64(WOW64). Some paths of File System and Registry are redirected.

The following links will be helpful.
