Changes in VS 2005 - simple question for Web Developer

This is a newbie question, but I've created a few apps in Visual studio 2000
and .NET version 1.1....

When I start a new web page and drag a data grid onto the form and try to
configure the datasource, the datasource configuration wizard for Access will
only let me connect to a local datasource ( ie C:\drive ). Why can I not
access network drives? I'm trying to create a simple browser-based utility
to connect to a network database. I managed to open the server explorere and
create a data connection that way but I'm curious why the data wizard only
wants local database sources. Can anybody explain this?

thanks
