Where is the help?

I have loaded Visual Studio .net on my home computer and my laptop, but my
home computer has an abbreviated help screen not 2% of the help on my laptop.
All the settings look the same on both including search the internet for
help, but the help is worthless. Any ideas?

MSDN installed on one and not the other? Help integrated into one and not
the other?

When I am in VB, I select the Help/Search and only a handfull of items are
listed in the help. My laptop displays thousands of items. What do you think?

First, which version of studio are your using? I have assumed 2005 since you
referred to internet help as well. Second, when you say listed in help,
where do you mean listed? What are you seeing or not seeing? Possible
ideas:

MSDN is not installed
You have your list filtered by a language
You have Language, Technology or Content Type filtered to something....

My help for VS2005 has never worked. It can not find anything locally and
nobody has ever responded to any questions I have asked in the various
newsgroups I have sought help on help from.

When I bring up the help index, on the left side of me screen where it says
index, filtered by: no filter there is about 2 1/2 pages of items. On my
laptop, there are over 2000 pages of help items. I don't really know what
MSDN is other than what is on the internet. I am using 2005. There are no
other languages or filters that I can see. If it is MSDN, how to install it
as there does not seem to be anything else to install.

I thought that some form of MSDN help came with VS. It should be on the
CD/DVD media. The only other thought I have is that for some reason, the
help files did not get integrated with VS. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Is help even integrated in VS 2005? If I click on the Index item under the
help menu, it brings up a seperate window with help loaded in that.
Conversly, in VS 2003, you could type class names, etc., right there in the
IDE and get help. I would really like to know how to get it back to being
integrated like with VS 2003.

Anybody???

I would like help on help too. Help itself sucks now and it sure seems even
those willing to help don't know how to solve some of the problems. SQL
Server BOL is also really FUBAR.

Even if something is found to be helpful we still can't even create a folder
to save Favorites or synchronize those Favorites with other Favorites on the
same machine. Everything -- and I mean everything -- about Microsoft's
products has become GFS.

I really hope Ray Ozzie will make quality priority #1.
