I have chosen to develop a small line drawing application. This should be a
simple case of "the wheel is being re-invented" so there should be classes
and architecture already in place that I can re-use.
The problem:
Each drawn line is an object, be it a straight or curved line. How can I
select the line with a mouse-click? The mouse pointer has only to be
approximately on the pixels of the line.
I have had a look at regions, but that doesn't seem to be right (although I
could be wrong). Do I need to go down a more classic route of calculating
with brute force which object, if one, has been clicked?
If this is covered in a book, let me know and I will give it a read.
I normally develop web front ends and the whole desktop application side of
development is turning into a bit of a grey area.
