Can I do this?

I have a form with textboxes, buttons, and a datagrid. What I'm doing is filling the textboxes with information and then updating the grid with this information. What the user wants to do is select one of the records in the grid by tabbing to the grid to get the focus, use the arrow keys to navigate to a record and then use the spacebar to select that record. The code that I have to use the spacebar to select that record does not work until I use the mouse to click on the record first. It seems as if the grid does not get the focus until I click on it with the mouse. Is there a way around this? Here is the code.

Hi,
Since its windows DataGrid, there is no need of this code. Already we can navigate it by Tab and Arrow Keys through the whole grid. when we navigate, the record in that particular cell is selected by default. The user have to only enter his value after navigate to that particular cell. Its Datagrid's default behaviour.

I don't think you understand what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to select the whole record by using the tab key or the arrow key and then use the space bar to act like the enter key to use that record selected fields in another form.
