Asynchronous Socket Programming

Hi,all
When I writted a FTP client by using the socket, I chose using the PORT command to inform the ftp server connect to my PC, but when waiting for a incoming connection, my pc blocked there, I considered to use the AsyncCallback to listen on my pc, but how can I retrieve the socket handler for my main process, since I need this handler to transfer data, and when my work is finished how can i terminate the listen process?
Thanks for any help!
