transaction connection pooling and distributed transaction

I,

After reading all what I could find I have some question about
transaction and connection pooling.

Let`s look at an example :

Dim _transOpt As TransactionOptions
_transOpt.IsolationLevel = IsolationLevel.ReadCommitted
Using transScope As TransactionScope = New
TransactionScope(TransactionScopeOption.RequiresNe w, _transOpt)

conString =
ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("PhenixDbCo nnection").ToString()

factory =
DbProviderFactories.GetFactory("System.Data.SqlCli ent")

connection = factory.CreateConnection()

connection.ConnectionString = conString

connection.Open()

' do some stuff here

connection.Close()

connection.Open()
--HERE I got an exception because MSDTC is not
running
but why does it try to do a distributed
transaction ????
I would assume that because I'm in the same
transaction
I could reuse the same connection ???

I got the same probleme if I try to get the conection from the
DbProviderFactories
I woul have assume that because Ì'm in the same transaction the
connection pool
would give me the same connection. I use sqls server to do my test
(with enlist=true
for my connection String)
