calculating values inside a datagrid

hi all,

i have a datagrid which displays some fields, say product name,
unitprice, quantity,tax and total
the quantity filed is editable.
i am struggling to wirte the code for

default, quantity should be put 1., then the total column should be the
unitprice+tax
if the user changes the quantity, then it has to display
(quantity*unitprice)+ tax on total column

how can i do this?
i am using vb.net2003
and sqlserver2000

can anyone help me in detail, please
i am new to this field and so it will be greatful, if someone guides me
in this context
