Socket Error while accessing the Webservice using Web UI

We have two production servers under the DNS setup. We have installed our web services on both the servers. The web application is also installed in the same servers. When the web application tries to hit the servers, it comes out with the following error.. Also, at times it works but most of the time it fails.

Just wondering if you've found a solution to this problem. I am having the same issue and am at my wit's end... A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
