authentication and SSL with ATL CSoapSocketClientT

I am trying to use a web service from VC++. I want to use SSL and basic
authentication. I can get basic authentication to work with out SSL.

I have used the CSecureEvtSyncSocket class from the

sample but it fails to compile when I add the auth method to the socket with
the error 'error C2664: 'ATL::CAtlBaseAuthObject::Init' : cannot convert
parameter 1 from 'ATL::CAtlHttpClientT<TSocketClass*const ' to
'ATL::CAtlHttpClient *''
I need to use a web service over an SSL conection and surply the username
and password to authentication to the web service. Is there any way to do
this from VC++ and not to use a .net interop component to connect with the
web service.
