XMLDocument.Load very slow

Hallo!

I want to open an XML file with a size of about 1 MB on a Windows Mobile 5
system. Loading the XML file is very slow. It takes about 6 seconds on my
Pocket PC to load the XML document. Is there a chance to speed up loading
the XML file?

Regards,
Norbert

It is hard to judge speed on different systems but what kind of XML
document is that, does it have a DOCTYPE declaration requiring the XML
parser to fetch a DTD or other external entities over HTTP? In that case
it could help to store the the DTD locally and use a custom URL resolver
that makes sure the DTD is loaded locally. Of course just a guess, but
DTD fetching is often a reason why people experience parsing of XML
documents as slow.
