searching for files in Windows...

let's see if I get better luck here, I posted this question in another
ng, but got no responses..

I'm at work, where my machine has .NET Framework running in Windows
Server 2003 Standard Ed..

when I'm viewing contents of any folder that contains aspx files (and
..cs, and .ascx files) and hit "search" to find, for example, a string
like this "<asp:" Windows only finds this string in a few occurrences in
..ascx files, doesn't find the ones on .aspx files at all.. (it even
found one in a .cs file, even though there's none there..) if I search
for "runat=" it doesn't find any occurrences at all!

why is this (I know I can search from w/in VS, and even HomeSite, but I
really would like to know why Windows search is not working for me with
aspx files..) since it's an asp.NET-related question I hope it's ok to
ask here (as I said, I posted question in Windows XP group (couldn't
find a ng for Windows Server OS..) but didn't get any responses..) many
thanks..

It's an XP issue... XP thinks it's protecting you from yourself <g>

Instead of mucking with the registry, I use this. It's faster anyway.
