Process affinity

Hi,

I know this has cropped up before because I've searched on it - but the
answers (use imagecfg.exe) don't work in this case.

Is it possible to set the process affinity of a .NET exe ? So that, right
from loading up - without setting processor masks in taskman - it only runs
in a uniprocessor mode ?

I managed to get hold of a copy of imagecfg.exe and tried it - but it didn't
work at all. The app wouldn't even load.

I ask because I used to use the ANTS profiler to profile our app and found
it very useful. Just recently I got a dual core machine and now when I try
to profile performance the app loads under ANTS but processor usage goes
ballistic and I have to kill it. For the record I suspect this is a problem
with our app not quite coping with dual core machines. But the developer has
had a look at it, and nothing really seems to stand out. And the app works
perfectly on its own.

I suspect if I can force it to run on one CPU only I can still profile OK.
BTW you can't attach to a process from ANTS. So I can't start it, set it
from Taskman, then attach.

TVMIA,

Adam.
