Renaming .NET VC++ projects

I was wondering if someone might tell me how to rename a VC++.NET 2003
project or is there a product that might do it for me that I could buy. If
I was using VC++ 6, I could use a product called copywiz, but it does not
seem to support VC++.NET.

Hi,

To rename a project in VC++ 2003 or higher, simply open its solution.
then select the project in the solution explorer and press F2.
Change the project name, press enter.

Thanks a lot, how about with version 2002 which is what I use at home.

I think it should work as well. It has been 4 years since I used it though.
For home use you could also use VC2005 express. it's free.
However, it does not come with MFC, ATL and some other stuff, so it might
not be sufficient for what you do.

Well, I tried what you suggested and though it does rename the project,
the other files are still the same name. I was looking for something
that would rename the entire project including all the files with the
same name. Oh well, I guess there is not anything like that. Too bad
Microsoft did not include such a tool. It would have been very useful.

ren ThisProject.* ThatProject.*
cd res
ren ThisProject.rc2 ThatProject.rc2
cd ..
vim ThatProject.* *.rc res\*.rc2
(search/replace all instances of ThisProject.

I do this all the time... Wizards just get in the way...

Well, I managed to do it by hand, but it took a lot of time and editing
before the project would compile properly.
