webservice.htc causing problems on port 81

This is not actually a question, but some information for guys who are
interested .NET web services. since i couldn't find any place relevant to
post this info, thought of posting it here so that the message is spread
across.
if you are using the webservice.htc in order to call a web service through a
client side script it would not function as expected as long as it is hosted
on port 81 I couldn't find any reason particular reason for this; so thought
of posting here so that web services experts can have a look at it if
interested. if i find the cause my self will definitely post another note
enlightening you with the details.
