Batch file from web service

I have a batch file that outputs to a basic text file, but when I try to
launch it using System.Diagnostics.Process.Start, it doesn't seem to work.
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start seems to work just fine as a VB.NET EXE
file...

So is it possible to launch a batch file from a web service?

The WebService is probably running as an ASP.NET user with minimal
privileges. You should consider either impersonating or elevating the
privileges of ASPNET
