Creating recordset from a text file

P: n/a
va
I am trying to create recordset from a text file. The
text file contains header and records. The text file is
tab delimited. I am using the following statement to
create the recordset

Call rs.Open(filename, conImport,
adOpenForwardOnly, adLockReadOnly, adCmdTable)

After creating the recordset I can view the contents. But
if the value of any field in the text file is more than
256 characters, the record contains the first 256
characters only. The rest of the value will be
truncated. In addition to that when I close the
recordset, I get GPF error message and the application
shuts down. I am using MDAC 2.7 If there any way I can
read more than 255 characters successfully?

Thanks
