cross-platform

Hi,
People often say that the .NET Framework is cross-platform. Does this mean
linux and macOS?

Thank you in advance,

Timothy.

Some folks have taken the ECMA specifications for .NET and ported it to
Linux and FreeBSD.
See
http://research.microsoft.com/Collab...RFP/Rotor/defa
ult.aspx
and
http://www.go-mono.com/index.html.

These versions are not supported by Microsoft.

By cross-platform, MS means any of the Windows Server systems, Windows 98,
Windows ME, Windows CE, and Pocket PC. I'm not aware of a port to macOS...

Hope this helps,
bliz
