Prevent Session Time out

Hello people

My problem is:
My session is 20 min and the cache can be very heavy for each user.
The user can be doing many things and after 20 min not using the
application, the cache gets empty, that means all the work done by this
user is lost.

I wanted to prevent the Session Timeout while the browser is open, then
when the browser is closed, and the session will expire itself in 20
min time emptying the cache of this user.

I was thinking of creating a Javascript countdown that reloads a
picture every 19minutes so the server gets a request and the Session
restarts.

Does anyone knows another way to get this??

Thanks in advanced

Nacho
