How to add include files for debugging

I have an asp.net project which includes some javascript files which live in
a subdirectory to the project root directory.
The include statements obviously expect the files to be in that
subdirectory.

I wish to debug the javascript, but when I try to add the files to the
project, they are copied into the project root directory.
I tried to 'create' a folder in Solution Explorer and hand copied the files
in there, and then tried to add the files that way, but the ide still copied
the files into the project root directory.

The only way I can get them to debug is to remove the name of the sub
directory from the path where they are included in the web control HTML.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can add these files into the project I get
them to be referenced from their subdirectory as per the HTML reference to
them?

Thanks in advance
