StatusBar Icons & Embedded Progress Bar

I have a winform app written in managed vc++. The app has a status bar with
a couple of icons that need to be changed at runtime; also, I want to embed
a progress bar in one of the panes. The icons will change as a function of
the application "state" i.e error, success, etc. There are a lot of articles
on how to do this in vc.net and c# but I am having difficulty doing this in
c++. I think I need an image list and must cast icon handles to dynamically
change the statusbar icons. And I did find an interesting article at:
http://www.coder.gr/article.php?story=20050419110632545 which seems to
indicate how to embed a progress bar in a statusbar. I can almost get this
to work, but not quite.

Can anyone provide a link or sample code describing how to do these
statusbar operations?

Thanks in Advance,
