How to keep state using <asp:Table...

Ok here is what I am doing. I have a <asp:Table object
in the html. I am creating the rows and cells
dynamically in my codebehind. When I first call the aspx
page I create the table based on the data from my DB.
Works great, except I have <asp:LinkButtons in the cells
that perform some operation on the server.

Here is the big problem. When I post back I have to
create the table again like it was the first time the
page was called, so it will recoginize the the link
button. To me this is a waste of resources since all I
am doing is redirecting to another page.

So if anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong that would
be great. Thanks in advance.
