How to call a Web service from 'old' ASP?

Hi all.

I am not sure if it is a proper group for my post.

I would like to know if it is possible to call a webservice from "old"
ASP? By "old" ASP I mean ASP, not ASP.NET. If it is possible, then how
can it be done?

Thanks in advance,
misiek

Hello,

It's a pain in the neck, but you can, check out this article:

Good luck

That link he posted is good. Just keep in mind that there is nothing
magical about web services. You just send a properly formatted SOAP
XML message to the service endpoint and you may get a SOAP XML message
back. That's really all there is to it. You can do it in any language
anywhere as long as you can do HTTP requests. It's even common to do
in ECMAScript (JavaScript)

If you take a look at this thread
"How do you call a .NET webservice from a COM app?"

You'll see that while it is possible to call a WS from old asp handling
the errors is difficult and requires a lot of code.

Has anyone actually implemented this?
Thanks

I am not sure if you still need any help with this, but I have implemented
this and it is a pain. I believe I still have the code around somewhere. Do
you need it?
