Extending Internet Explorer Functionality

Note: I originally posted this in m.p.vc.language, but I thought it
might be a good idea to put it here too.
A few years ago I wrote a browser helper object (BHO) for Internet
Explorer... This was back before .NET and in the VC++ 6.0 days. Now
something's come up at work where we have to extend the functionality of
IE for our own internal needs. Is there a better/easier way to do this
with .NET, or should I be going back to writing an old school BHO?

BTW, we use Visual Studio 2005 Pro

Thanks!
