IE Crashes when trying to display compressed (gzip) Dot Net Control for the first time

P: n/a
Hi,

I have the following configuraiton:

Server side:
Apache 2.x with deflate module configured for cotet-stream.

Client Side:
IE 6.0.2 SP2
dot net framework v1.1.4322

and...
1. IE Crashes when trying to display compressed (gzip) Dot Net Control that
is embbeded in the HTML on the first attempt to view the page. the second
attempt (uncompressed file is allready in the cache) the IE doesn't crash
and the Dot Net control (<OBJECT> tag) is displayed.

2. the client (IE) gets the compressed files and decompress them (can be
found in the IE cache)

3. when trying to get the control via the url line and not the html tag
everthing works fine.

4. this is not a security issue since caspol -s off was applied.

5. as far as i can see the server side copresses the files as expected and
send them to the client

6. i found the following issues on the web

http://groups.google.com/group/comp....f84ebb2bf3f8df

which seems relevant
