'Proxy Timeout' in web service.

Hi all
I am facing some wierd problem at a time of calling web method of web
service through windows application.

At a time of calling one web method of web service after some amount of
time i am getting following error :-

Process failed. Reason :- The request failed with HTTP status 504:
Proxy Timeout ( This operation returned because the timeout period
expired. ).
But in background web service is processing data.

I will just explain what i am doing in web method.

On web server at particular location i have one csv file of say size 30
MBwhich is i am stoing into database though my web method which is
throwing above expcetion on client side.
Main issue is inspite of throwing exception to client web service's
thread is still running and stil adding data into database means not
stopping process in background.

So i am not able to get indication that whether process is completed or
not.

Can someone shed some light on this.

Any help will be truely appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Archana.
