importing classes into aspx page not code-behind

I'm a relatively new .net developer and normally use code-behinds. I'm
working on something where we don't want a code-behind (long story.)

How do I import a class for use directly in my aspx page not in a
code-behind.?

The following code generates an error on the first line with "Imports"
in it.

<%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false"%>

<%
Imports System.Configuration
Imports System.Data.SqlClient

<snip>...

Sorry for the stupid question.
