XML data entry for given XML schema

P: n/a
Hello,

maybe this qustion sounds silly but in VS2005, I'm looking for the same
possibilty to entry data for a predefined XML schema in grid view.

In VS2003, you were able to do it if you simply set the target schema of
your new XML file (which contains nothing besides the xml version line) and
switch to data view. This simple way of data entry seems to be gone in
VS2005, or is it hidden somewhere else?

Thanks

Hello,

no, that is not just easy as you describe:
my XML file at the beginning looks like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

If I set the property "schemas" to my defined data set schema XSDSchema1.xsd,
the data grid view is telling me that there is no data. Clear, this is just
what I intend to do. I can only enter data if I start to manually build the
XML structure. Then, the data grid view is able to display data.

But this is exactly what I don't want to do if I have more complex XML.xsd
file.
Is there no way to get at least one "data row" automatically generated if
the XML schema is known? This could help...
Stephan.
