odd MDI child behaviour

guy
vb2005 - I have an mdi app, the child forms having MaximizeBox, MinimizeBox
and ControlBox all set to false
1/
however on displaying the form I get TWO child titlebars, one actually on
the child form and one under the parent titlebar
if i redisplay the child form, or display any other child form the child
form title bar goes away

2/
the titlebar under the parent title bar displays the controlBox,MinimizeBox
and MaximizeBox (with icon=restore) Restore and Next are available from the
controlbox, but not Minimize. If i select restore the form goes normal but on
dragging it maximizes and the titlebar under the parent title bar goes away!

any idea what is going on?
