Web service timeout????

JP
Im frustrated.

I have a very simple WS that performs a .FILL on a dataset using a stored
procedure

The code in the SP is a simple SELECT * FROM table WHERE Key='12345'

when I execute the WS, it come back in 15 sec with a .NET error indictating
a connection time out.

Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the
operation or the server is not responding.

If I got to SQLEM and manually execute the same SP in the web service (user
the same username/password as that used by the web service), the record come
back in under 3 secs.
Of couse the error line # is at the point where its trying to execute

objDataAdapter.Fill(myDataSet, "myTABLE");

Why does it time out using the WS and not when executing in EM using the
same user/password????????
