This project is a collaborative effort. We need to have this project
environment up and running on multiple developer workstations. I'm trying to
replicate the environment on a second workstation and I'm stymied.
I've jumped through all the preliminary hoops; i.e. got the Web site created
and mapped to the project folder. Added Frontpage extensions (is this
necessary?), etc. etc. However I'm hitting the following wall:
When I open the Solution, I get the following dialog:
Unable to read the project file 'SRSFreedom.csproj'. The system cannot find
the path specified.
It would be nice if the dialog would give the path it's trying to locate.
That would be a nice diagnostic assist for this particular problem. In any
event, I'm assuming that what it's trying to locate is
'http://localhost/SRSFreedom.csproj'.
FLASH - I've jusat stumbled onto a workaround. Here's a snippet from the
..sln file:
Project("{FAE04EC0-301F-11D3-BF4B-00C04F79EFBC}") = "SRSFreedom",
"http://localhost/SRSFreedom/SRSFreedom.csproj", ...
If I change that to http://127.0.0.1/SRSFreedom/SRSFreedom.csproj... I can
now open the solution.
When did 127.0.0.1 become different than localhost? I think this happened
around the same time as SP2 when Microsoft got the idea that it might be a
good idea for them to get into the Firewall business. NOT!!!! Why the
@#@^$#^&&* does 127.0.0.1 produce different effect than localhost? Haven't
these always been the SAME? How do I resolve this problem?
Thanks for your help!
