gridview.sort crashes my server

When I create a gridview in code and use these as my event handlers my server
crashes. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

protected void gridview_OnSorting(Object sender, GridViewSortEventArgs e)

{

gridView.Sort(e.SortExpression, e.SortDirection);

}

protected void gridview_OnSorted(Object sender, EventArgs e)

{

gridView.DataBind();

}

wow, no body has anything at all to say about this. So is the only way to get
real support to pay for it?
