Team System team managment...

I read many articles on web related to MS's Team System but still I
don't get it can you, and how manage your team? Here is an example of
what I want to do:

1. Let's presume I have Active Directory with users that are members of
domain.
2. Can I assign people from AD to my project thus determining what
resources I have?
2. How can I add responsibilities to those people? To determine who
will design system, who will develop, who will test.
3. I know that you can assign work item to team member, and saw it
done. But can you look at member and see summary on what work items he
has? Or better -> can you overview his tasks and deadlines? See when he
has spare time and add entry requesting meeting? I know it is possible
to manipulate one's Outlook calendar when you have Exchange server.
