Why msbuild changes a new line when using console.write("\r") ?

I'm testing to see whether msbuild can replace nmake.
project file
<Project xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003">
<Target Name="test">
<Exec Command="test.exe"/>
</Target>
</Project>
test.exe only print number.
using System;
namespace test
{
/// <summary>
/// Summary description for Class1.
/// </summary>
class Class1
{
/// <summary>
/// The main entry point for the application.
/// </summary>
[STAThread]
static void Main(string[] args)
{
for(int i=0;i<100;i++)
Console.Write("\r"+i);
}
}

}
When runing test.exe alone or using nmake, the numbers are in one line,

but when using msbuild the output numbers are in a list.

How to write the msbuild project file to let the numbers in one line?
