Problem Connecting to a database in Visual Studio 2003

Hi;

I am unable to connect to any database using either the Server Explorer or
through the tools menu option.

I have Uinstalled/Reinstalled both Visual Studio 2003, as well as MSDE.

Any insights into this would be welcome.

Thanks,

Run c:\OSQL and see what happens (go to the web to learn about OSQL if
neccessary)
