Mixing C#/.NET and VC++/MFC versions?

I have an existing application in 7.1 and would like to add relatively
independant new functionalities (windows and controls) in C#. They need to
behave reasonably consistent together in the same application.

Is it OK to mix C#/.NET 2.0 with VC++/MFC 7.1? Or does it need to be either
1.1/7.1 or 2.0/8.0 combinations? Any "official" prints or recommendations
from MS on this?
