Web Service Fails on Large Dataset

I have a DotNetNuke module that accesses a webservice based on a user
id. The webservice returns data and the module displays that data.
This all works fine, except for one user id, which happens to be the
user id with the most data. I either get "Operation Timed Out" or
"Server was unable to process request. --> SQL Server does not exist or
access denied." If I use the webservice locally on the server with
that user id (not thru the module) it takes a while to respond, but i
do get a response. I've played with some timeout options I found, but
not sure if that is the issue or if they were the right timeout
options. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions as to what could be
making this occur/how to fix this?
