Create proxy class manually without using wsdl.exe tool. C#

I have an issue where the provided .wsdl file is being generated
incorrectly with the WSDL.exe tool. I have to use digital client
certificates for authentication and it has been determined...by another
business...that the proxy class was generated by the wsdl.exe tool
incorrectly for use with the client certificates. The solution was
stated to be to 'manually write a proxy class without using the
wsdl.exe tool'. I'm not sure how to do this. I am using C# with
framework 1.1 in Visual Studio 2003. They have to be soap envelops so I
would need to use the SoapHttpClientProtocol. Could someone please
point me in the write direction with a 'How To' article or something.
Basically I am not sure how the serialization of the class into soap
message works..or rather what serialization parts to use. Or even if I
should do it that way. I would hate to have to manually create the soap
envelop tags in code and send across the wire...

Thanks for any help on this matter.
