How to embed Web Service within SharePoint Portal server site?

I would like to have Web Service (that reads data from SQL server) within
SharePoint Portal server site, which further can be used by InfoPath
secondary data connections.

Is there maybe some Web part that offers this functionality?

I am beginner in all this – please help

Thanks,
Speedy
