Adding Web Reference Error

amv
Last week I added several Web References to my Project. All worked correctly.
This week I try to add a Web Reference and get the following error.

There was an error downloading 'http://myServer/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx'.
The request failed with the error message:
--
<html><head><title>Error</title></head><body>No authority could be contacted
for authentication.
</body></html>
--.

However, the Web References already established still work correctly.

I'm coding in ASP.NET, Visual Studio .NET 2003. The server is Windows 2003.

Has anyone run into this problem before? Any suggestions?

I've never seen this particular error message before, but I noticed
that the URL you indicate looks to point to the copy of a file in a
FrontPage extensions directory (_vti_bin). I'm wondering if this could
have something to do with it.

Try pointing to the ASMX file in the root of that directory, which
should be http://myServer/Lists.asmx and see if that works.

HTH

Thanks,
