How do I determine the web service content response length?

My goal is to provide a progress bar to the user to give them some kind of
idea how long it is going to take to download a file using a web service. I
am using the example found in the article
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...ce11052002.asp .

I created the Soap Extension and was able to monitor what is going on during
the BeforeDeserialize stage.

I was hoping that during the first call to ProcessMessage of the
BeforeDeserialize stage, that I could somehow get an indication of what the
final length of the stream will be. Inspecting the stream at this point as
well as the message passed into the ProcessMessage both proved to be
fruitless.

Since the call to the web method is done over the http protocol, is there
some way to get at the http response headers at this time and retrieve the
content-length value?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
