Web service

Hi.

I would like to ask.

IN my program I have refferences to any web Service.

When I want call some method of this service I use:

Dim myservice As New cx.dragon.amaral.Calculator

Messagebox.show(myservice.Add(10, 10))

It returns 20.

How can I receive response from that method in xml format?

Thanks for answers.

Hi John,

I am not sure what your saying here, but the values do get returned in XML
format, the problem is they get de-serialized back into their original
values. So for instance if you have a web method that returns a integer, the
web service will serialized it to XML send it accross and when it reaches the
consuming code gets de-serialized back into an integer.

If you want a representation as XML, then i guess you could change the
return type to a string and create the XML using the XMLTextWriter class of
the framework.

Hope that helps,

Rob
