can't run webservice from remote machine

When I try to run a webservice (that runs fine on my local machine) on
one of our servers, it gives me the generic application error message.
I've turned customErrors=Off, but it still isn't giving me the actual
error. I've gone through a number of posts like this in this group and
everything I've found to try just isn't working. What's strange is
that when I use terminal services to connect to the server and I run it
from there, it runs fine. It's only when I try to call it from a
browser not on that machine that it errors... and of course won't give
me any error info. What else can I try? Thanks.
