Client Machines Certificate Issue

Hey,
I have been trying to actually explore the various certificates available across all the platforms.
I had started with Microsoft Certiying Authority of the microsoft.
I had actually created a .NET Webservice to test the same.

I had created the PFX certificates and then used it across different platforms.
All these certificates were working fine on the microsoft platforms.

But when i switched my environment to AS400 I was facing various issues.
The specifications for the client machine are as below:

1. Operating System : AS400
2. No Browser supported
3. Does not support PKCS# 7 Certificates/ Certificates chain

So I was looking an option for sending the machine independent certificates so that it can be tested on the AS400 machine.

Has anybody worked on the similar approaches ?
Is there any other format in which we can give the certificates to the client machine without changing the certifying authority?
Is there any tool which actually converts PFX format to some native format supported on AS400 operating system?

Any help will be appreciated.
