XML De/Serialization

1. if my web services serializes a c++ class to Xml stream, what data type
does my Vb.net deserialize it to?

2. since we are using web services we would replace xmltextreader with a
System.IO.Stream ?

XmlTextReader reader = new XmlTextReader("car.xml");

Car wifesCar = (Car)ser.Deserialize(reader);
